Firmware Information:
AMX50xx 3.1.0.0 

This revision of AMX5000 and AMX5010 switches is intended to be released and used with the following AMX™ switch 
products revisions: 

 - AMWorks® software 	revision 5.0.0.23           
 - AMX51xx 		revision 2.0.0.9             
 - AMIQ (all types) 		revision 4.0.5.0

 - Revision 3.1.0.0 of AMX5000 and AMX5010 switches is fully compatible with the following:

- Revision 3.1.0.0 of AMX5000 and AMX5010 introduces new features that will only operate with the following 
  AMX switch firmware revisions:

                                           HOW TO UPGRADE
===============================================================================
You may update the firmware from AMWorks 5.0.0.23  or from your current revision of AMWorks® software.

We recommend that you first update AMWorks to 5.0.0.23 .

Please see the file entitled "AMWorks_Rel_Notes.txt" for details.


How do I update the firmware on my AMX50xx Devices?
==================================================
1. Install AMWorks as described in the release notes entitled "AMWorks_Release_Notes.txt".

2. From your newly installed AMWorks, Select 'Admin Tools - Firmware Update' from the menu.

3. Select all of the AMX50xx devices on your configuration.

4. From the "firmware update" dialog, select the update file for the AMX50xx devices. this file will be named 
    "amx50xx.avt". 
    Ensure you select the revision 3.1.0.0. 

5. Select "begin update", and all firmware updates will complete. You may update all of your AMX50xx devices 
    in parallel, for fastest results. 
    It will take about 5 minutes for the firmware updates to complete.

                                           ENHANCEMENTS
===============================================================================
This release of firmware/software contains the following enhancements for the AMX5000 and AMX5010 :

1. Remote User Authentication using LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) on an AMX system.
    This feature is enabled and supported by the AMX50xx - but it may only be setup and configured using
    AMWorks software version 5.0.0.23 . 
2. Support for SNMP information and control.
    This feature may be enabled and configured using the serial console menu interface. 
    This feature is not configurable from AMWorks software.

                                           FIXES

This release of firmware/software contains the following fixes for the AMX5000 and AMX5010:
	
 - Serial Console Menu is now at version 2.8

                                           KNOWN ISSUES
===============================================================================
This release of firmware/software contains the following known issues for the AMX5000 and AMX5010:

1. When you attempt to login at the serial console, it can take up to 5 minutes. This will not occur often
    but if it does occur, you should simply wait, and access to the serial console menu will be granted.
